You are trying to install a software and .NET framework is a pre-requisite. You download .NET framework and try to install but nothing happens when you double click the downloaded package. Try the following to resolve the issue:
1. Go to Internet Options
2. Select "Security" tab.
3. Select "Internet" zone.
4. If "Enable Protected Mode" is checked, uncheck it.
5. Click "Custom Level" button.
6. Enable following options:
-File download
-Automatical prompting for file downloads
- Enable .NET Framework setup
Click OK. Click OK again
If this does not resolve your issue, then most probably .NET framework is already installed on your machine.
1. Open registry and check value of following key. Remember this will check for the availability of .NET framework 3.5.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v3.5\1033
The value should be 1. If it is 1 then framework is already installed. If it's 0 then try the steps shown above and re-run the deployment package. It should work after enabling the options mentioned above.
