Keeping track of versions when content changes often (Via Getthepoint)

If your documents and list items often go through multiple revisions – or if it’s hard to keep up with who changed what – then you might consider using versioning in SharePoint.

For example, suppose a document has been reviewed and edited by numerous people, and you notice that a phrase was changed unexpectedly. You need to find out who made the change, so you can understand why the change was made and make sure it’s correct. With versioning, you can see a list of the changes and the version history.
